The heart of Christianity lies in having an individual relationship with the Lord. To really understand that relationship, we must ask the question… “Do I have a spirit? Am I a ‘living soul’ with both a physical body… and a spiritual component within that body?” Most Christians believe that, before or upon our births, we are we are each given a premortal spirit – a spiritual child of God. Without those spirits, God is not really our Heavenly Father. He is still God, but we are not heirs to His kingdom. If we don’t have spirits, then the premise for our relationship God goes missing. It’s an important doctrine, though it is not discussed very often.
